sparkle jars: I began creating with fabric and embellishments during my childhood, sewing simple pillowcases and doll clothes. This love of fabric continued throughout my life, and I have since made hundreds of hand-sewn/hand-quilted items, mostly for pleasure and charity. I am passionate about creating crazy quilts with vintage fabrics, needlework and linens and take pleasure in integrating a variety of embellishments, including items such as period jewelry and sewing notions. My dear quilting friends, Judi and Regis, recently re-introduced me to knitting and crocheting (my grandmother originally taught me as a "tween"). My daughters, who are only mildly interested in quilting, immediately became passionately involved in knitting and crocheting so it has become a family hobby with my husband cheering us on. I've recently learned to weave on a rigid heddle weaving loom and I love it! I've also been dabbling in Swedish weaving/huck embroidery over the holidays. I'm excited about finding a way to combine everything I've learned as quilter with everything I'm learning about knitting and crocheting.
